Salicylic Acid is more effective for oily skin because it is lipid soluble. It
can penetrate the oil in pores and dissolve the dead skin cells stuck inside. It
may also be less irritating than AHA�s because it appears to have
antiinflammatory properties.
Salicylic Acid will fall lower in the list
of ingredients than AHA�s because LESS is needed to produce results -just 1% to
2%. BHA (beta hydroxy), salicylic acid is the next generation for improving the
appearance of aging skin. It exfoliates without irritation.It has been found
that BHA, Salicylic Acid, is effective with as s little as 1/5 the concentration
typically found in the most commonly used Alpha Hydroxy.
Vitamin C also
supports cellular renewal and production of collagen ( the skins major
structural support). As a primary antioxidant, it sweeps out and neutralizes
free radicals (unstable oxygen molecules responsible for breakdown of cells that
precedes aging and disease).
